As far as new releases go for 2017, Urban Decay are definitely leading in terms of innovation and trends. One of the more exciting releases has to be their new contour kit called the Shapeshifter.
I am all for the convenience when it comes to my makeup – especially when a palette has it all in one. The new Shapeshifter definitely is very convenient with cream AND powder contour and highlight products in one. The creams and powders are separated by a mirror divider (with the mirror on both sides!) which makes it perfect as a travel palette.
The Shapeshifter palette contains four powders (a dark contour, bronzer, banana powder and pink/gold highlighter), whilst there are five creams on the other side (a dark contour, two light coloured concealers, an orange concealer and a shimmery highlighter). I was pleasantly surprised to see that the palettes come in two shade ranges for lighter skin tones and medium dark skin tones. I picked up the medium / dark palette and I’m pleased to say that the colours work very well on my skin tone.
The quality of these creams and powders are amazing. The creams have more of a slick consistency to them (not dry at all), making them very easy to blend out. They almost blend out into a powder like finish, however I would always advise that you set them with a powder. I love that they included an orange concealer in this palette as it works perfectly on my deeper skin tone. The powders are very pigmented and blend very well on top of the creams. The banana type powder is slightly too ashy for me personally, but it’s not terrible when blended out if you like that brightness under your eyes. The highlighter in the powders section is gorgeous with its duo chrome shift of gold and pink (definitely one of my favourites in the whole palette).
Overall, if you can’t tell already, I love this palette! Not only is it great for contour and highlighting, but it’s a great travel palette and you can use it for your eyeshadow too! I’d definitely give this 9\10 – amazing!
