How to be positive

“Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.” – Zig Ziglar

Happy February! So it’s finally come to a new month (after January seemed to drag on forever!). With the start of a new month, I like to set out a few goals or thoughts for the month. As I mentioned in my previous post, January was quite uneventful. As it was the start of the year, I was ready to start afresh and really commit to – well everything! I’m pleased to say that my energy hasn’t wavered and I’m still quite ‘pumped’ for 2018.

2018 is a year where my main focus is about being happy. Happiness has many dimensions, and I wish to explore these throughout the year. With the start of a new month, I really want to explore my positivity. I truly believe that positivity is very important when pursuing happiness. Now this doesn’t mean that everything is going to be great. Nor will I be cheery and rosy all day everyday (I KNOW that won’t be me!). However, I really would like to ensure that despite what happens I can learn to see the positive outcome or be a positive energy.

Dalai Lama quote

A couple of things I’ll be doing to remain positive

The book I’m reading this month to help keep that positivity is called You Are A Badass: How To Stop Doubting And Start Living An Awesome Life by Jen Sincero. I’ve actually already started reading this and I’m already inspired. Her realism and quite frank approach to our everyday mindset really puts things into perspective. I’ll keep you updated in a future post as to how I get on with the book, but so far I highly recommend it!

As well as reading, I really want to focus my content on positivity. Not every post will be about this topic, but I’d like to write at least once a week with this in mind. I’d also like to take this approach in my attitude to blogging and continue to use the strategies I listed in my post about blogging happy in 2018.

I’ll let you know how my journey of positivity develops this month. I’m quite excited to start a new month and just get going. The first challenge for me this new month is deciding whether or not to move out of my flat at the start of April or the end. My original plan was to wait after the wedding at the end of April, but of course things don’t necessarily work out! But, I’m staying positive and thinking about the benefits in doing so – annnndddd breeeaaathhhheee!

Let me know what your main focus for this new month is below!

Speak soon,

Victoria x

Now in the mid of winter, almost everybody I know is depressed and in a really bad mood: skies are grey – and so are thoughts. So reading this post was very encouraging and motivating – thanks for that. However, I’m happy to escape for one month to South America.

  11. February 2, 2018 / 10:44 am

Sounds like a great book. My focus for this month is outdoors as January has been so miserable as we have all been ill

  12. February 2, 2018 / 12:41 pm

Well to me the New Year does not start till February. That is because January is such a long, dull and cold month that you spend most of it hibernating because you are either too cold or too skint to do anything. However, come February everyone has been paid and it is time to party.

  13. February 2, 2018 / 1:26 pm

Be optimistic. Positive thinking will drive us towards happiness and healthy life. Reading and traveling will create positive energy and improve our knowledge.

    All the best,

  14. February 2, 2018 / 7:20 pm

Great focus word for 2018! I should adopt it for my life. It sounds like you have great plans for this year. 🙂

  15. February 2, 2018 / 8:33 pm

I ams struggling a bit with this as the moment. I cant work out if its tiredness, or the fact that January is depressing or the weather. But Ive added your book suggestion to my basket in the hope it will help. Thank you x

  16. February 2, 2018 / 10:02 pm

You’ve already made the first huge step to happiness and that is that you decided to be open to positivity. Look for the good things in every situation (and there is always a good and a bad side). If you’re focused on the positives, it is much easier to deal with the negatives. Good luck!

  17. February 2, 2018 / 10:25 pm

Sounds like you’ve got a great mindset in place to keep positive. My plan for the month ahead is to keep up the momentum in my blog and clear a backlog of posts leaving March a bit freer x

  18. February 2, 2018 / 10:36 pm

What a great mindset to have for me I’m focusing a lot more on self care this year and creativity I definitely I could also do with more positivity in my life.

  19. February 2, 2018 / 11:05 pm

I love this, I am an eternal optimist, probably why I follow a football team that has one a single premiership in it’s 145-year history 😉

  20. February 2, 2018 / 11:20 pm

I like your positive attitude! January is quite calm for me, but February will be quite hectic. I hope you will have an amazing February with your wonderful plan to move.

  21. February 3, 2018 / 9:16 am

Positive character traits are those things that draw us to other people. if only we could fill the world with more positive people, what a beautiful and peaceful place it would be.

  23. February 4, 2018 / 7:29 am
