Well hello! It’s been a moment hasn’t it? I’ve taken a break from blogging and returned as a married woman now living in Wales – but life goes on! I’ll have to do a life update in a future post and share some wedding pics with you all. Today I wanted to share my thoughts on a product I received called LQ Joint Care.
I’ve noted in a previous post about my health struggles, including my physical health. I found that in the last few months I was experiencing a lot more leg and arm pains and aches. In my mind this was simply due to putting on weight and not exercising much if I’m completely honest. However this put me into the frame of mind of working on my health and fitness again. When I was contacted to review the liquid supplements, I was a little skeptical but thought they sounded like something I could really test out.
WHAT IS LQ JOINT CARE?
LQ Joint Care is a daily supplement that has been scientifically formulated to ensure that each 50ml bottle contains the right amount of key ingredients necessary for improving and maintaining healthy joints. I’ve included a list of the ingredients below:
Water, marine collagen hydrolysate (fish), root ginger hydro-alcoholic glycerine extract (Zingiber officinalis), N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, cherry juice concentrate, chondroitin sulphate marine (fish cartilage), cherry natural flavouring, acid: citric acid, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), powder of fruit juice of lychee (Litchi chinensis), preservative: potassium sorbate, vitamin E acetate, hyaluronic acid, sweetener: sucralose, copper bisglycinate.
The main key active ingredients are marine collagen and glucosamine. Collagen is the major constituent of connective tissues such as skin, tendons, cartilage and bones. Glucosamine is a compound found naturally in the body, and can help with the continual renewal of cartilage and other body tissues. The production of glucosamine slows with age.
As well as the active ingredients, the supplement also includes ginger which supports the body’s defence and immune system. It also contains copper which is involved with the formation of elastin and collagen, which constitute the structure of connective tissue. Finally vitamin c is used as it contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of goes and cartilage. It also contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
DOES IT WORK?
The instructions for LQ Joint Care say that it should be taken once a day, so I take them every evening (well most!). It has a very distinct sweet taste, which if I’m being honest I really do not like. That’s the only downside for me. I have, however, seen other reviews and people don’t seem to mind the flavour. My parents and husband (still so strange to say that!) also don’t seem mind the taste, so I guess I’m just very sensitive.
I’ve been using the supplements for about 6 weeks now. I can only say that I’ve been very impressed with it! Within the first week or so, I noticed that my aches in my arms had gone. I was so impressed with the results I gave a couple of packs to my parents for them to try as they both complain of leg pains. So far they haven’t told me of any differences, but it has only been a couple of days!
Overall I would definitely recommend these supplements – however if you have a fish allergy this is not for you due to the marine collagen. Let me know if you’ve tried this out for yourself!
The supplements come in packs of 10 x 50ml bottles and retail for £24.99. You can purchase your pack from Holland and Barrett’s here.
