So this is something a little different for my blog – but I wanted a space where I could document my thoughts about getting married and my journey to becoming a Mrs! Yes – you read that right – I’M GETTING MARRIED! I got engaged on 16th February 2017 and I couldn’t feel more blessed!
If i’m completely honest, before I met my fiancé I always thought that this day would be a very distant day for me. I never really allowed myself to think about getting married as I just didn’t think it would be a near reality – boy was I wrong!
I want to use this space to talk about all things wedding prep, as I learn what I need to do – and of course beauty will be at the centre of it all. I’m actually thinking of doing my own makeup, so at the moment I’m doing a bit of research into the best products for wedding makeup looks which is fun.
Right now you’re witnessing my ramblings as a very unprepared bride to be. I never really was one who had her wedding mapped out in her head -so right now this is all quite foreign territory for me.
Let me start by saying that even though on the outside I may appear cool, calm and collected – that’s far from the truth! I have a million and one thoughts running through my mind – which are all adding to my excitement about it all. We’ve given ourselves just over a year to plan for our big day which is a relief, but there’s so much to do. One of the first things I did was to set up an account at www.weddingplanner.co.uk as that way I have a full list of what I need and timings too.
As I write this, we are at the stage of agreeing on the venue (whoop!) we just need to get our deposit paid and it’s a done deal! Now we are considering the church. I never realised just how difficult finding an all-in-one venue would be. As we are both Christians, we want to have a Christian ceremony for our wedding, however most venues do not allow any religious ceremonies on site! So we are looking for a church close by – which has its own considerations too (such as timing, dates, parking, bringing in our own minister, attendance of the parish etc).
There’s so much to consider when planning a wedding and for me it’s just started! Each week I’ll try and bring you some new post discussions wedding related, which hopefully can be useful to you or at least interesting.
For now I’ll leave you with a lovely picture of my beautiful engagement ring (which actually was too big, so I’ve had to have it resized!), and I’ll speak to you later on my next topic on my wedding ramblings!
