It’s that time of year when we’re trying to book our Christmas dinner with work or friends. Well, I thought I’d help you out a bit! A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to test out the Christmas menu at the Grape & Olive in Swansea. I’d never been before so of course I couldn’t say no.
The Grape & Olive is located at the Meridian Tower, which overlooks the marina in Meridian Quay. It truly is a stunning location. The restaurant itself is located on the 28th floor for the tower and is surrounded by massive windows allowing you to take in the amazing views of Swansea.
The Christmas dinner
As I mentioned before, I was invited to come along and taste the Christmas menu at the Grape & Olive. The restaurant had an impressive feast set out for us. There were over 20 dishes on their menu which they presented to us to taste. It truly was amazing. From their pastries, to their mains, and their desserts, it definitely is a Christmas menu worth trying out.
There is a selection of 3 menus for Christmas. There’s a Festive Menu which you can try in the weeks leading up to Christmas, and they also have a Christmas Day and Christmas Buffet menu. We had a taster of each menu. My favourites included the beef wellington, the roast potatoes, the duck spring rolls, the butternut squash and red pepper soup and their figgy pudding. In fact I’m sure there was a lot more that I loved, but I tasted so much it’s hard to remember.
Christmas dinner prices
The prices for the Festive and Christmas menus were quite reasonable. The adult Festive Menu is £24 for 3 courses and for children it’s £12 for 3 courses. The adult Christmas Day Menu is £65 for 4 courses and £32 for 3 courses for children. Their buffet menu (which is quite similar to what I experienced) is £16 per person.
Although I could describe the dishes to you in a spectacular fashion, I think seeing them for yourself would be even better! So here are some of the pictures I captured of the dishes below:
One last thing I wanted to mention which I was very impressed about is the fact that the tasting session wasn’t just for bloggers. The Grape & Olive also invited the public to try their menu later that evening too which I thought was a fantastic idea.
So have you visited The Grape & Olive before? I’d definitely recommend them if not!
